Welcome to Rufezeichen!
Who We Are
Rufezeichen! Music is not a record label, but a collaborative brand for us to promote ourselves and each other. It is a way for independent artists to make themselves part of something bigger, without signing away any of the rights to their own art. This means that everything is run by us, the artists, which we hope gives us, the artists and the organisation, a more honest appearance, compared to other organisations, including large labels. Rufezeichen! is the name that the listed members publish under. It is not an officially recognised company, and all members go through other platforms to distribute their work.
The Name
I wish there was some great story behind the name, but I can't even remember how we decided on it. What I do know, is that it comes from the German for exclamation mark, hence the exclamation mark we always write after it. Anyway, here's how to pronounce it.
Rufezeichen [ruːfətsaɪçn̩]
Note: I couldn't find any website to give me the IPA notation for the word (maybe because it's a shortened version of the full word) so I used Wikipedia to transcribe it myself. There's a good chance it's wrong, but I don't suppose many people are reading all this, and I don't suppose many people can even read IPA. There's an audio clip anyway.
